Michael Sheen OBE announced as new Patron for TAN
We are delighted to announce that actor Michael Sheen OBE has become a Patron of TAN. Michael, who starred in The Passion in Port Talbot earlier this year is a great supporter of TAN and the work we do. TAN would like to wish Michael all the very best for his current starring role, as Hamlet at the Young Vic Theatre, London.

TaTa Steel
We are delighted to announce that TaTa Steel have awarded our Take This diverse capacity dance company £1000 so that they can continue to meet and create a new work Silent Movie[[sitetree_link id=87]].

Education-Un Dau Dawns
Our annual Dance in Education project UN DAU DAWNS has successfully toured 20 local schools but unfortunatley we regret that C&C Swansea have decided to withdraw their financial support for this project which has been praised for it's excellence since it began in 1993.

Education-Families Forward
After a successful Pilot Project TAN Dance has recently secured funds for 3 years from the Gordon Cook Foundation to develop the Familes Forward Project in 3 comprehensive schools and their primary cluster groups. The Special Intervention and Nurture Groups in schools have identified the children as capable but needing added attention, where pressures they face are linked directly or indirectly to their background, family situation and outside sources.

Staff are currently writing lots of applications for funds so we can mount lots of great activities. We have exciting plans so watch this space.

Support TAN
As members of Arts & Business Cymru we are keen to find businesses who would like to assist us and in return have the pleasure of supporting an Arts Council Beacon Company who undertake ambitious projects that benefit the communities of Neath Port Talbot and Swansea. One of the projects we are planning for 2012 comes under the Cultural Olympiad banner and involves the fuselage of a DC-9 aeroplane! (google Adain Avion – Marc Rees).

Tutors wanted
TAN is blossoming and it isn’t even Spring…..lots of work coming in so any dance tutors out there who aren’t already on our books give us a call.

ACW Investment Revue
TAN survived the Arts Council of Wales Investment Revue with a small uplift to make the company more sustainable. We are pleased that ACW value us as revenue clients and will continue to strive for excellence.
